ALPG Tour
The 2009/2010 ALPG Tour schedule comprises 7 Pro-Am tournaments and 5 major tournaments offering prize money of $1,815,000. The ANZ Ladies Masters is the major televised tournament covered by Channel Ten and carries prize money of $600,000. Leading players from Europe and Asia are now entrenched as participants in the event, which attracts large crowds and excellent television ratings. The Women's Australian Open was resurrected in 1994 and played every year through to 2004. Following a two year hiatus the event was back on the schedule in 2007, played at Royal Sydney Golf Club, then in 2008 at Kingston Heath Golf Club, The Metropolitan Golf Club in 2009 followed by the Commonwealth Golf Club in 2010. The 2013 Women's Australian Open will be Held at Royal Canberra Golf Club.
A new event added to the schedule in 2009 was the New Zealand Women's Open. After a successful inaugural staging, the event has been elevated to co-sanction status with the Ladies European Tour. The 2010 Pegasus New Zealand Women's Open will carry prizemoney of approximately AUD$340,000. With this boost in New Zealand and the $100,000 for the Royal Canberra event, the 2009/10 Tour shows a 15% increase in overall prizemoney.
